The conference is intended to be a media for scholars, practitioners, and policy-makers to discuss and exchange theoretical and empirical findings on the issues and challenges of regional development, basic infrastructure, energy and climate change with particular emphasis on the aspects of governance, public services provision, natural resource and environmental management, investment and business climate, trade and informal sector, regional growth, poverty and inequality, in the context of globalization
of the economy, knowledge and cultural exchanges.
Speculation abounds concerning the future of cities and regions of developing countries with respect to policy and planning trends, issues and challenges will encounter in the next 25 years. Scholars and professionals are solicited that focus discussion on identifying, defining, and discussing these elements.Papers may examine (1) specific cities, city-regions, or national contexts; (2) certain sets of topical issues (environmental, i.e., climate change, social, demographic;) or (3) aspects of planning practice and governance
It is hoped that participants will exchange experiences and build strong networks for future research, policy discussions and practical collaboration. topics that are not in developing countries are welcomed as long as its lessons learned are relevant
